Building a Home

Safe drinking water and a sanitary way to dispose of wastewater are a critical part of building a home. Environmental Health oversees the installation of water wells and septic systems in Riverside County.

If your local planning or building & safety department directs you to Environmental Health, you can visit our Riverside or Indio Office to start the permitting process for your water well or septic system. A specialist is available at our counter Monday through Friday in our Downtown Riverside Office and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our Indio office, 7:30am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:30pm.
