DEPARTMENT PRESENTED WITH ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (6-17-14)
The National Association of Counties (NACo) has granted Riverside County Department of Environmental Health a 2014 Achievement Award for its program titled “The Environmental Site Assessment and Risk Evaluation Tool”. The program won in the category of Information Technology. This innovative program was developed in 2012 and saves the county and public both time and money by streamlining environmental assessment reviews for land development projects. The Environmental Site Assessment and Risk Evaluation Tool uses GIS (geographic information systems) to quickly access project-specific information from multiple data sources, thereby reducing county time spent on the review process while providing a more thorough evaluation.
