Body Art
The Department of Environmental Health has established minimum standards that apply to Body Art Facilities and Practitioners for the safe practice of Body Art in Riverside County. These regulations are intended to protect both the Practitioner and the client from transmission of infectious diseases through the application of proper Body Art procedures and the control of cross-contamination of instruments and supplies. Information regarding requirements in the regulations can be found in Riverside County Ordinance 907.
New Requirements as of September 7, 2011: All individuals performing Body Art procedures and all Body Art facilities located within the County of Riverside, are required to register once and then maintain an annual registration or permit.

Body Art Letter to Operators
Body Art Practitioner Registration
- Body Art Practitioners must fill out an application form and submit with a fee of $50 at any Environmental Health Office.
Body Art Facility Operator's Annual Permit
- Body Art facility operators must fill out an application form and submit with a fee of $200 at any Environmental Health Office.
- Facility Operator must submit an Infection Prevention and Control Plan for Bloodborne Pathogens to be approved by this Department.
