Beginning January 1, 2010 the California Department of Public Health has determined that a surcharge of $6.00 be collected in addition to all annual permit fees to defray costs of carrying out the duties under AB1020 (formerly the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act). This state mandated surcharge will be in effect until January 1, 2014.
